We have launched on last Oct 07 the first of a flotilla of 4 very unique, authentic and charming Sampans named “Song Xanh Cruise“, designed for traveller looking for “private” cruise experiences in the Mekong Delta. On board, two spacious spaces of 15sqm each are equipped with beautiful bamboo and rattan furniture, creating a very charming atmosphere. DAY 1: HO CHI MINH CITY - CAI BE - SA DEC - CAN THO (L/D)

Be picked up at your hotel at 8:00 am and transfer to Cai Be by road. Begin cruising from Phu An Jetty at 10:00 am. From the sampan, observe life as it plays out on shore - people going about their daily activities against picturesque landscapes - while your attentive crew serves tea and seasonal fruit. Before arriving at Sa Dec, stop at various points along the river for a look into some of the cottage industries of the region including a brick factory where everything is made by hand, pass monkey bridges and tiny villages to visit a Cao Dai temple. Arrive in Sa Dec and stroll to the outdoor market. Visit one of the highlights of the charming town, the ancient house of Huynh Thuy Le, a real-life character in the celebrated novel and film “The Lover” by Marguerite Duras.

Lunch is served on board while cruising towards Can Tho along a narrow canal teeming with life. Explore the countryside surroundings by local rowboat. Your last stopover before sunset is at an ancient house (a “Nha Co” in Vietnamese), dating back to the 19th century. The owner will welcome you and a candlelit dinner is served in this authentic countryside setting. After dinner return on board while the Song Xanh continues its cruise towards the Hau River. Overnight on board.

DAY 2: CAI RANG - CAN THO - HO CHI MINH CITY (B/L)

Wake up early at 6:00 am for a visit to the famous Cai Rang Floating Market which operates daily starting from 5:00 am.
Breakfast is served on board while the Song Xanh navigates towards the market among local barges loaded down with fruits and vegetables from the Delta, making for some stunning photos. Continue cruising towards Victoria Can Tho and disembark at the hotel’s private jetty.

DAY 1: CAI BE - VINH LONG - SA DEC (L/D)

Be picked up at your hotel and transfer to Cai Be by road. Meet us at Phu An Jetty at 10:00 am and start with a bicycle ride around this rural area, ending up at Le Longanier Restaurant.
Lunch is served in this exquisite colonial-style villa set in a lush tropical garden by the river. After lunch, board the Song Xanh
Sampan for a leisurely cruise on the busy waterways of the Mekong Delta, with stops along the way to visit local cottage industries that utilize products from the Delta like rice and coconuts. Before arriving in Sa Dec, stop to visit a traditional brick factory where everything is made by hand. Dinner is
served on board. Enjoy your first night on board your sampan as it moors on the Mekong River.

DAY 2: SA DEC - CAN THO (B/L/D)

After breakfast on board, step ashore and take a stroll to a lively outdoor market. Visit the historic house of the real-life character in the acclaimed novel and film “The Lover” by Marguerite Duran.
Back on board, cruise towards Can Tho along narrow canals, passing several monkey bridges. Lunch is served on board, before another shore excursion to a Cao Dai temple. Board a small rowing sampan to further explore the small armlets of the river. Your last stop before sunset is at an ancient house dating back to the 19th century where a dramatic candlelit dinner will be served. After dinner, return to the Song Xanh as it continues its cruise towards Can Tho. Overnight on board.

DAY 3: CAI RANG - CAN THO - SAI GON (B/L)

At around 06am, your sampan will slowly start cruising. Your breakfast will be served on board at 07am while approaching Cai Rang Floeting markert actually still the largest in the whole Mekong delta. We will pass by countless sampan boats carrying sand, rice, fruits and vegetables, fish, flowers… showing an intense activity on the river. Your cruise journey will end at around 10am at Ninh Kieu pier after a visit at Can Tho local market then by bus back to Sao Gon.
